Alma do Mar is run by a team with a 25 year track record developing across the UK, including the last 15 years in Portugal. We remain family owned and have been visiting Portugal for over 30 years. Alma do Mar is born out of our love for Portugal, its culture and above all the people. It is also the result of a long planning process, with carefully considered design reflecting the topography and natural surroundings of the development.
A SHORT HISTORY
Alma do Mar Oliveira Apartments is the brand name of New Paradigm, a real estate investor, developer and building contractor based exclusively in Lagos.
This building is the first phase of a new development for Lagos, and represents our second development and investment as a company, following the success of a bespoke development of 11 luxury villas just a few kilometres away. Almost complete, each villa was developed with its own design philosophy and constructed to exacting standards.
New Paradigm itself is British-Portuguese company that is co-owned by a UK developer and contractor, Medcentres Plc.
Founded approximately 25 years ago by the current directors and a family business, Medcentres has extensive experience in the delivery of medical, social and private real estate, including award-winning apartment buildings.
Oliveira Apartments represents the next step in the journey.
ARCHITECTURE
Mario Martins is an award winning Architect and having grown up in Lagos, bases his studio there today. Our Directors have known and worked with Mario for over twenty years, and for good reason.
Together with his team, his design is best described as artistry. The detailed attended to create beautiful architecture whilst retaining functional, practical internal layout is unparalleled.
THE ALMA DO MAR MASTER PLAN
Oliveira forms the first phase of a wider master plan, controlled by Alma do Mar. It represents a major, long term investment in the area all designed by Mario Martins giving a common architectural approach. Infrastructure will also be improved with new roads and connections benefitting the whole area. Phases have been carefully designed to not impinge on the enjoyment of existing development or phases, which will ultimately fit together providing a resort location with planned restaurant, health facility, and grocery shopping.
